Process:
After a quote has been accepted by the customer and a deposit collected I will order materials for that rod. Lead time on material is usually no more than 7 business days from the date it is ordered. The customer will be notified if any item is out of stock and if there is another equivalent item or if they would prefer to wait for the item to come back in stock. Once material has arrived work begins with regular updates when milestones are met (dry fit of grips and reel seat, guide wrap, progress on any decorative elements, etc). Time to complete a rod is usually around 4 weeks from the time the deposit is collected to when it is ready to hand over to the customer.
Power Vs. Action
POWER
The “power” of a rod refers to how much pressure it takes to flex the rod. Different rod powers are engineered to efficiently handle a certain range of lure weights and line sizes. To select a rod power that will perform best for you, simply narrow your choices to rods designed to cast the weight of lures – and sizes of lines – you’ll fish with most often. Designated by names such as Light, Medium, Heavy, etc.
Action
The “action” of a rod is determined by where a rod flexes along the blank. Faster action rods flex mostly near the tip. Moderate action rods flex more near the middle of the blank. Slower action rods flex down into the butt section. Designated by names such as Slow, Moderate, Fast, etc.
